Fall at Anacortes Yoga Sanctuary
The light is changing. The evenings arrive earlier. There’s a little more rain, a little more reaching for a sweater, and perhaps a little less enthusiasm for leaving the house once you’ve put on your comfortable pants.
Fall in Anacortes has a way of inviting us inward.
Meanwhile, the calendar keeps filling up. Before we’ve finished admiring the leaves, we’re making holiday plans, coordinating schedules, and wondering how another year moved so quickly.
Here at Anacortes Yoga Sanctuary, we’re making room to move through this season with a little more intention—and a little less rushing.
What would feel good to make space for?
Maybe it’s movement that helps you feel strong. A quiet hour when nobody needs anything from you. Time to remember someone you love. Or simply being around other people without having to organize the whole thing yourself.
There’s room for all of that here.
Let Your Practice Change With You
You don’t have to bring the same energy to your mat every day.
Some days, a strong flow and a little heat feel welcome. Other days, a slower practice, supportive props, and time to settle are more appealing. You can choose what fits the day you’re actually having.
As we move toward winter, try making one small appointment with yourself each week. Choose a class you enjoy. Put it on your calendar. Let that hour be enough.
Our upcoming gatherings offer a few more ways to pause, connect, and welcome the season.

The Four Fires: November with Kat McGee
As autumn deepens, we’ll gather to honor our ancestors and remember those whose presence continues to shape our lives.
Kat will guide a seasonal somatic practice, a meditation of remembrance, and silent tea inspired by the Irish tradition of the Dumb Supper.
You’re welcome to bring photographs of loved ones who have passed—whether two-legged or four. Come with your memories and whatever feelings accompany them. There is no expectation to arrive feeling any particular way.

Sound Bath with Heather and Rick Sievers
An evening to lie back, get comfortable, and listen.
Heather and Rick will create an immersive sound experience with gongs, crystal bowls, and chimes. As the holiday season approaches, this gathering offers time away from the planning and doing—a chance to settle into stillness and notice how you feel.
No poses to learn. No performance required.

Part of our quarterly Solstice + Equinox series, this seasonal gathering invites you to turn inward and make room for quiet.
Let the shopping lists and unfinished projects wait for a little while. Bring yourself, settle onto your mat, and welcome winter in community.

Yoga ABC’s with Jyothi
Ever found yourself halfway through a sun salutation wondering where your foot—or your breath—is supposed to go?
This two-hour, beginner-friendly workshop creates space to slow things down and ask questions.
Explore Half Sun Salutations and Sun Salutations A, B, and C, with attention to alignment, breath, transitions, and modifications. Jyothi will help you understand the “why” behind the movements and explore options that work for your body.
Whether you’re new to yoga or would appreciate a thoughtful refresher, you’re welcome here.
And Something a Little More Free-Spirited…
Ecstatic dance is coming to the Sanctuary.
Think music, room to move, and permission to be a little less in your head. We’re looking forward to sharing more about this opportunity to explore movement and connection.
Details are on the way. Keep an eye on our upcoming events and studio updates.
Until then, there’s no need to map out your whole winter. Start with one class, one gathering, or one hour you’re glad you made time for.
